Last day at OT Pedi Clinic
Today, was my last day at my favorite place i've been doing my Occupatonal Therapy (OT) observance hours for grad school. It's the Outpatient Pediatrician Clinic of Christus Santa Rosa Hospital (one of the major hospitals here in San Antonio). My new job that i finally got is open during the same time the pedi clinic is open, so not able to continue w/my hours. The pedi clinic was the first place one of the first places that called me back saying that they would love to have me. Because OT's can work w/ infants, children, or adults the job market is very open. I haven't quite decided which ages i want to work with, but just from working here it has caused me to at least really consider it and be open to it.
Above 2 photos: pics of the pedi gym. OT and PT for children both use this gym area. besides all what you see in the photo, there are puzzles, games, blocks, baby toys, crayons, etc basically just every type of toy a kid would play with. Working w/kids isn't about having gigantic equipment, most of the time it's the most basic children's toys and games.
Above: this room is used for working w/the kids who don't spend much time in the pedi gym. here the children will work on puzzles, writing, coloring, blocks, lots of dexterity and cognitive thinking activities.

Such bright and cheerful places. I can see you and your energy thriving in a place like that.
