Above: my favorite part of the run...what a beautiful view!

Above: this was taken after the run...heart beat good...not out of breath at all

Above: My friend Kelly and I ran in 4K cancer run. This year the NCAA women's final four is being hosted here in S.A. About two years ago a Coach Yow of North Carolina passed away from breast cancer. We ran downtown in the King William District. A very nice area of old time homes; made it a great scenic route. In Coach Yow's honor every year, wherever the women's final four is hosted; they have a 4K run/walk in her honor. All the money is donated to breast cancer research. In addition, Coach Yow's organization donated over $100,000 to CTRC for breast cancer research. Even though I don't work there; I believe I can still support the cause and for those patients who were my favorite and still fighting cancer. A 4K is about 2.3 miles....that's a warm up for me. My friend is not a runner so wasn't about getting an amazing time. We ran it in 27 mins...didn't want to leave my friend behind. Had a great time doing it for such a good cause. Was pretty early for me 8am...but was great weather. Plan on doing a 5K run on May 1 in the Susan G. Komen event. Can't wait till that one.

Yes, beautiful area of homes! Wouldn't mind seeing them for myself, but not in a race!
Woohoo, go Katie! Did you actually carry the camera the whole race and take these pictures in the middle of it?
