My First Visitors: Part 2

One of the days, we went to the place called the Biosphere 2. It's the only existing Biosphere in the world. It's literally out in the middle of nowhere, because they wanted it secluded from the world. Dad wanted to go see it cuz it sounded interesting, and it was. The point of Biosphere 2: Was opened up the early 90s for research for NASA to learn how humans could live on another planet, by living in a completely enclosed place. In this whole building as you can tell from the picture, there was a tropical region of living, a desert, an ocean, living quarters for the people. In the this place, the people would learn how to grow their own plants, raise their animals, and basically control everything that goes on in this biosphere. Back in the day, when this place was first opened they had some people that lived in it for 2straight years and learned how to survive and take care of everything in the biosphere. Once the 2yrs was up, another Columbia Univ. students went in to try it, but failed. So since then early 90s, the Biosphere has not been used again mainly is a tourist place, and just sits and waits for researchers to come and use it. All i could think was, "whoa, how could someone live in this for two years? I would get so bored" Not sure if i get live in such a area w/the same people for two years, think i would go crazy. Besides no tv, video games etc . . . i can't imagine life w/out those.










Below: my parents and i went to this place called the San Xavier Mission. It's a still a practicing Catholic monastary. It was very pretty as you can tell. It was having some work done to the outside of it, so it doesn't look as neat as it could've.
