Wow!! What a View of the Grand Canyon!!

Again i had one of the best weekends ever. I finally got to see the famous Grand Canyon. It was me, Elliot, Travis, and Kim. We did the whole camping experience: cooked food over the fire, slept in a tent, made smores over a fire, and drank beer. The Grand Canyon is only about 7 hrs from Tucson, bout a 1hr north of Flagstaff, AZ. Flagstaff was a very nice town too. We got to the Canyon camp bout 12:30am Friday night. Because we got there so late got into the camp for free, we had already paid to reserve our camp spot online a long time ago. Typically it's a $25 charge to enter the camp. We set up camp, then went to bed about 2am. The night sky there was so clear, you could literally see every star in the sky. The night temp was about 35; during the day about 70ish. 35degrees sounds cold for camping, but it actually wasn't too bad, i've been more miserable in the cold before. The coldest day was Sunday. We got up and saw the Grand Canyon on Saturday. The camp doesn't let you drive to the Canyon anymore due to excesssive accidents that used to happen. So you have to take a shuttle bus to different parts of it, then you can hike to each bus stop. As soon as we all saw the Canyon all we could say was "WOW!! Look at that!" It was so breathtaking, its so different in person than when you see just photos of it. At times it just didn't look real, looked like a painting. We saw lots of European, Asian, and Indian tourists there. On the way back home we made a stop in Sedona, AZ. Is a very rich and beautiful city. Many rich/famous people have passed through Sedona. Sedona looks nothing like southern AZ or even Northern, AZ. We ate lunch there, then did some site seeing there. So I hightly advise for anyone that hasn't seen the Grand Canyon to see it and to go to Sedona and Flagstaff too. Great places for people who love the outdoors. So overall the trip was GREAT!! Me and my friends got just get away from our jobs/worries and a have a good time enoying the outdoors.

Above: this is one of my fave photos. Seems as if my friend Elliot got little too excited uh, when he saw the Canyon HAHA! Naw, not really-what happened he accidentally sat on the part of my camelback (backpack of water) where u squeeze the water out. This happened on the bus, we didn't notice it until we got off. We all died laughing for awhile over this. But poor elliots bum was a little chilly the rest of the day, plus the wind blowing didn't help either.

Above: Hermit's Rest - at the end of the Canyon trail. this was a rest spot that used to used by hikers back in the day. Now it's converted to a gift/coffee shop. a great place to just relax and enjoy the view.
Above: the shower house we had to walk to take a shower. there was laundry room too. I had to pay 1.75 for a five minute shower, the nice hot shower was worth the money
